Our medical thermoelectric systems (VascuTherm 5 and ARTEK Pro) cool without the use of ice and our VascuTherm 5 can deliver DVT alongside cold and compression in a safe and coordinated method. For those patients who need cold therapy, but don’t have insurance to cover a thermoelectric system, our ARTEK Sport is designed to deliver ice-based cold therapy in a safe and effective way.
Cold and compression therapies help you recover by reducing pain and swelling around your surgery/injury site. Several of our products offer ice-less cooling to help simplify your treatment. See the Patient page for more information on your product and the therapies we offer.
It is important that you use the therapy prescription provided by your physician. If you are unclear on your prescription details, please contact your physician.
As a ThermoTek Dealer, you will introduce and actively promote our product line to orthopedic physicians. As our Dealer, you are responsible for providing any referred Patient with a thorough understanding of their prescribed device and as well as training and education on the device. As our Dealer, you are also responsible for coordinating billing, fulfillment, and patient support.
If your product is rented through a medical device provider, the provider will come and pick up your product when you are finished with your prescribed treatment. If you purchased your product, it is yours to keep.
Workers’ compensation and auto insurance provide the best coverage. Your local ThermoTek Dealer will contact your patient’s insurance for pre-authorization. If your patient's insurance does not cover the product, your Medical Device dealer can offer options for your patient to rent products themselves or purchase at a more affordable cost or purchase certain products for them to keep. Ask your dealer about your patient's options or contact us for help.
We have developed a competitive, versatile product line and financial opportunity for our Dealers. Our model is based on three payor categories: workers’ compensation, auto insurance, and patient self-pay. After becoming a Dealer, your ThermoTek liaison can help model your potential opportunity based on the size and growth trajectory of your individual market. As a member of the ThermoTek Dealer community, you will have additional resources to support your business, physicians, and patients.
When your physician prescribes your product, they may discuss with you the status of your insurance coverage. If you are a VA patient and have a pre-authorized Veterans Administration claim, your VA facility should cover all the costs associated with your product. ThermoTek will coordinate your benefits directly with the Veterans Administration. If your insurance will not cover a premium product, you may be offered options to rent it yourself or purchase a less expensive product that’s yours to keep.
